Press release from the City of Hermosa Beach:
Sept. 7, 2021
The City of Hermosa Beach will begin offering 2022 dog licenses on September 20. City ordinances require dog licenses to be purchased or renewed each September for all dogs that are four months and older or within 30 days of receiving their first rabies vaccination. Dogs new to town must have a Hermosa Beach dog license within 30 days of moving to town or a penalty may apply.

Dog licenses help provide pet owners with proof of ownership and help to reunite lost dogs with their owners. They also assist in increasing rabies vaccinations because proof of vaccination is required for a license.
Dog licenses are $22 for neutered or spayed dogs, with proof of sterility, and $93 for non-neutered or non-spayed dogs. Licenses must be purchased or renewed before October 31 or a 50 percent penalty will be added to the cost of the license. Service dogs may obtain a City dog license at no cost if a service dog proof of certification is provided.
