Hermosa Beach Hires Private Company to Beef Up Security on Pier Plaza

Security for the nightlife scene has been an ongoing concern for the city.

HERMOSA BEACH, CA -- Following an incident where three police officer was injured in an early morning fight in downtown, Hermosa Beach has hired a private security company to help police the area, according to the Beach Reporter.

Security for the nightlife scene has been an ongoing concern for the city and was only highlighted by the clash, according to the Beach Reporter.

One officer's elbow was broken in the Nov. 5 fight on Pier Plaza. Another officer's hand and wrist were injured in the fracas and the third officer's hand was smashed as he was trying to arrest a suspect, according to police officials.

The incident will come on review at the Hermosa Beach City Council meeting on Nov. 22.
