Tipsy Tow Returns New Year's Eve
Hermosa Beach motorists who party too hard on New Year's Eve have the option of using the AAA tipsy tow service or calling a cab—just don't drink and drive.

Here's a scenario: You drive yourself to a New Year's Eve party, and while ringing in 2012, have too much champagne. Now you are unable to drive yourself home, but if you find a ride or call a taxi, your car will be abandoned.
For all party-goers stuck in that situation this weekend, the Tipsy Tow service will be available.
The service, which was offered last year from the Auto Club of Southern California, offers a free ride home for drivers while their cars are towed along as well.

Drinking drivers can call 1-800-400-4AAA starting at 6 p.m. Friday and ending at 6 a.m. Sunday for the tow, and a regular Auto Club-contracted roadside service truck will be dispatched.
"Drivers should be aware of the high crash risk from drinking and driving associated with holidays and we encourage them not to get behind the wheel if they’ve been drinking," said the Auto Club’s senior researcher Steve Bloch in a statement.

During New Year's Eve, the city aims to launch its on Hermosa Avenue. The system will organize and direct taxicabs picking up patrons in a designated area, similar to the taxicab stand systems at LAX.
