A message on the Help Us Find Erik Lamberg Facebook page Wednesday night said the 51-year-old man had yet to be found, despite a daylong search by trained volunteer personnel with two bloodhounds.
The post said one dog followed a possible scent for eight hours. Rescuers, who are hoping to use a bloodhound again, may continue their search Thursday.
Lamberg, who was driving to Oregon, experienced car trouble and then apparently resumed his trip. His van was found abandoned on a dirt road between Willits and Fort Bragg in an area described as vast and remote.
Lamberg's wife Samantha and two children live in Hermosa Beach.
