Fiesta Hermosa
Every Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends, the Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce hosts Fiesta Hermosa, . Hundreds of artists, including painters, potters and photographers, showcased their works Monday to visitors in booths that lined Pier and Hermosa avenues (see accompanying photos.)

Domoic Acid
Patch published Tuesday on the presence of domoic acid in Hermosa Beach and surrounding ocean waters. The toxin is produced by algae blooms and harmful to marine life. Research aims to identify what causes production of toxin and how to prevent and mitigate it, scientists told Patch.

8th Street
Home owners in the east side of town on 8th Street to improve their houses in an effort to upgrade the overall neighborhood. The renovations on this one block include repaved driveways and picturesque landscaping.

Just days before appearing on the game show, about one of her favorite childhood memories—watching Wheel of Fortune with her late grandmother.
Grunion Run
Thousands of grunion were expected to lay eggs in the sand, according to the California Department of Fish and Game. The small silvery fish spawn during the highest tide of the month from spring to summer.
