Recycled Resources Outreach Event

Recycled Resoruces, a Highland Park based non-profit created to provide food, clothing and informational resources to the area's homeless population, will hold a community outreach event on Saturday, July 14 from 10-1 p.m.

Volunteers are asked to gather at 715 Nolden St. at 10 a.m. before heading out into the field. New volunteers will be paired with experienced partners as they travel to homeless encampments in and around Highland Park. Volunteers provide needed supplies to homeless residents of the area and talk to them about services that are available to them, including housing and health services.

According to Rebecca Prine, the director of Recycled Resources, volunteers can provide help in these six areas:

1. volunteering on the front lines during outreach and engagements and gathering vital statistics to support the need for services

2. talking with those homeless, connecting with them, and educating them about community services

3. educating people in the community about who we are and the homeless population

4. gathering donations of clothing, food, hygiene products, etc. to improve lives 

5. picking up donations from various locations throughout Los Angeles

6. attending community events, council meetings, and church functions to inform people about the need for services
