Overturned Tanker Jams Traffic On 710 and 5 Freeways
More than five hours after a tanker jackknifed on the 710 Freeway, crews were still working to move it.

EAST LOS ANGELES, CA — A tanker truck overturned Thursday morning on the southbound Long Beach (710) Freeway in East Los Angeles, prompting closure of all southbound lanes for more than seven hours.
The crash occurred about 2 a.m. just north of the Santa Ana (5) Freeway, and some anti-freeze leaked from truck, according to Officer Patrick Kimball of the California Highway Patrol.
Traffic was diverted onto the southbound 5 Freeway, and crews worked to clear the scene.

About 9:20 a.m., two southbound lanes were reopened, but others remained closed. The cause of the crash was under investigation.
