Woman Injured by Metrolink Train

The woman is in fair condition, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

A Metrolink train traveling between the Sylmar and Sun Valley stations injured a woman today and fatally struck a coyote, authorities said.

Paramedics went to the 9500 block of North San Fernando Road at about 5:30
a.m. and transported the woman to a hospital in fair condition for treatment of
injuries to her right hand, arm and leg, said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles
Fire Department.

The coyote died on the tracks.

Some train delays of up to 90 minutes were reported, said Metrolink
spokeswoman Sherita Coffelt.
