Fire Damages Two East Hollywood Homes Wednesday Night

HOLLYWOOD, CA — A fire sprang up at an East Hollywood home Wednesday night and damaged two buildings, Los Angeles Fire Department said.

The blaze was reported around 9:27 p.m. at 1412 N Alexandria Ave. Firefighters arrived to find a one story home, which may have been vacant, with fire showing from the rear of the house and another building exposed to flames.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire in the exposed building, and were forced to take a defensive position against the primary house as flames continued in the attic. A knockdown was called at 10:04 p.m. thanks to the work of 36 firefighters.

No injuries were reported, and the amount of damage and monetary loss was still to be determined. Other details weren't immediately available.
