Fire Destroys Two Story Home In East Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD, CA โ€” A fire destroyed a two-story home in East Hollywood Monday night, Los Angeles Fire Department said. The blaze was reported at 8:35 p.m. at 1342 N Normandie Ave, showing heavy fire at the main building with two other buildings exposed.

The fire was soon raised to a greater alarm status as the fire spread to the nearby buildings. A knockdown was called at 9:05 p.m. with 90 firefighters putting out the fire in 30 minutes.

The extent of damage to other buildings wasn't immediately known, but LAFD said the primary "two-story craftsman" home was destroyed in the incident. No injuries were reported, and the cause and monetary loss were under investigation.
