Happy Hour With the Hollywood Young Guns

Our reader outreach event was a great opportunity to hear feedback. I'd like to continue that conversation through a regular Editor's Desk column.

Thanks to everyone who turned out for this year's first editor meet and greet at on Thursday night.

The Hollywood Young Guns happy hour is a great opportunity for young professionals in the community to get together in a casual setting and network during happy hour. I've met people who work for Hollywood's Business Improvement District, elected representatives and property managers.

I met two potential new bloggers who would make a great addition to our Local Voices program.

The chef behind , Ernest Miller, stopped by to introduce himself. Sounds like he's always in the kitchen preparing meals, leading a cooking class and still manages to update the restaurant's Twitter account. He had spent the afternoon baking cookies for Larchmont Charter School's Dr. Seuss Celebration. (The kitchen provides lunches for the school, which is why the restaurant is not open for breakfast on weekdays.)

Readers who attended offered helpful feedback and it got me thinking that now is the perfect time to start an "Editor's Desk" column to continue the conversation with those of you who couldn't make it.
