New Hiking Trail Coming To Hollywood Hills Near Ford's Theatre

A grant from National Parks Service will be used to develop a new trail with "stunning scenic vistas."

HOLLYWOOD, CA โ€” A new hiking trail will soon be coming to the Hollywood Hills, courtesy of a new grant from the National Parks Service. National Park Service officials announced Tuesday a $999,822 grant would be given to Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation, to create a new hiking trail in the Hills.

The trail will be created within a 45-acre regional park, that also houses the Ford's Theater, a tree-lined, 1,200 person outdoor amphitheater. Funds from the grant will be used to create a trail through a "naturally vegated hillside offering stunning scenic vistas," according to National Parks Service.

โ€œThrough these grants, cities are able to provide equitable access to their parks and other outdoor recreational areas where none, or little, currently exist,โ€ said NPS Deputy Director Shawn Benge. โ€œLocal parks, especially in urban areas, serve as a vital resource for economically disadvantaged communities. This grant program is available to every state and boosts communitiesโ€™ outdoor recreation opportunities.โ€
