Police Arrest 3 Attempted Assault Suspects, Close Portion of 101 Freeway

At least three attempted assault suspects were arrested in a car on the Hollywood (101) Freeway Monday, prompting closure of the stretch of the northbound portion of the freeway near where their car was stopped.

The car was stopped near Sunset Boulevard because it matched the description of a car used by suspects in an attempted assault at 5:20 p.m. at Echo Park Avenue and Duane Street, said Los Angeles Police Department Officer Karen Rayner.

Shots were fired from the car but it is not clear if anyone was hit, Rayner said.
