LOS ANGELES, CA — After authorities asked for the public's help identifying a man suspected of sexually assaulting a woman on Metro bus in Los Angeles earlier this month, police have released a video of the man — whom they suspect may have committed other similar assaults.

The victim, a 33-year-old woman, was on a bus near Sunset Boulevard and Vermont Avenue at 9:50 p.m. on April 12 when the suspect sat next to her, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The man began a conversation with the woman before brandishing a knife and demanding money from her, police said.

When the victim did not have any money to give the suspect, he sexually assaulted her for several minutes," the LAPD said in a statement.

When the bus stopped at the southeast corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Figueroa Street, near Exposition Park, the man exited the bus and headed southbound on foot toward 40th Place, police said.

The suspect is described as a 5-foot-5 man between 19 and 30 years old. He was wearing a white T-shirt with a Qatar Airways soccer logo, dark pants and a dark backpack.
