Rapper Stabbed In Prison While Serving Sentence For Megan Thee Stallion Shooting

LOS ANGELES, CA — Rapper Tory Lanez, who is serving 10 years in prison for shooting at Megan Thee Stallion at a party, was stabbed by a fellow inmate Monday.
Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, was attacked by another inmate just after 7:20 a.m. at a housing unit at the California Correctional Institute in Tehachapi, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
"Staff immediately responded, activated 911 and began medical aid," the statement reads. "Peterson was subsequently transported to an outside medical facility for further treatment."

The 32-year-old rapper was transported to a hospital in Bakersfield for treatment of the injury, which is not life-threatening, TMZ reported.
The exact circumstances around the attack remain unclear. Prison officials and the Kern County District Attorney's Office are investigating the incident, according to the corrections department.

Fans offered support for Lanez in the comments of his latest Instagram post, which was posted last week. The post includes a photo of Lanez behind bars and a promise that his next album would be dropping soon.
Lanez is eligible for parole in 2029, according to prison records.
Lanez was convicted in December 2022 of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, having a loaded unregistered firearm in a vehicle and discharging a firearm with gross negligence. He was sentenced the following years to 10 years in prison.
The two rappers left a party at Kylie Jenner's Hollywood Hills house together on July 12, 2020 riding in an SUV, the Associated Press reported. Megan testified during the trial that Lanez told her to "dance, bitch" as she walked away from the SUV and he shot five rounds at her feet. She claimed that Lanez offered her $1 million to keep quiet about the incident.
Prosecutors in a sentencing memorandum wrote that Lanez has re-traumatized Megan with posts about the case that emboldened some of his millions of followers to attack her, the AP reported.
Last year, she filed for a restraining order against Lanez, who she claimed was orchestrating a harassment campaign against her behind bars. She said he convinced bloggers to post false statements about her online .
