Rat Infestation Complaint Filed Against Upscale Hollywood Restaurant: Report
Workers shared photos of rats — both dead and alive — in a basement storage room of the rooftop restaurant, according to a report.
HOLLYWOOD, CA — A group of current and former employees of the rooftop restaurant at an upscale Hollywood hotel have filed a complaint with the state claiming the eatery failed to address a rat infestation, KTLA reported.
The complaint was filed by five cooks, servers and receivers who work or worked at Sky Terrace restaurant at the W Hollywood. The filing with the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health accuses Mosaic LLC, which operates the restaurant and hotel, of "failing to maintain premises to prevent the entrance or harborage of vermin" and "failing to institute a continuous and effective extermination program," according to KTLA.
The workers said they took pictures and videos of what they say shows rats — both alive and dead — in a basement storage room.

Los Angeles County Health Department officials conducted a routine inspection of the hotel on Aug. 2 and of the hotel restaurants on July 31 and did not note any evidence of vermin. Both of the hotel's eateries have an "A" rating, according to Health Department records.
