Spring Happenings at the L.A. Zoo
Big Bunny's Spring Fling and Sesame Street characters will visit the zoo during the season.

Spring has officially arrived and Los Angeles Zoo visitors have more reason to plan a trip to visit their favorite animals. In April, one of the Zoo’s most popular events, Big Bunny’s Spring Fling, offers egg-citing activities, crafts and entertainment. In May, Sesame Street characters Grover, Burt and Ernie make a special trip to meet and greet Zoo guests. In addition, the Zoo’s newest exhibit, the LAIR, is now open for amphibian, invertebrate and reptile fans to explore.

The Los Angeles Zoo’s annual three-day event, Big Bunny’s Spring Fling brings fun activities and entertainment for Zoo guests. The star of the event, Big Bunny, is available for souvenir photos at a nominal cost. His entourage of adorable and real fuzzy bunny pals gives guests of all ages a reason to hop over to the Bunny Patch, decorated with giant eggs. Big Bunny entertainment includes Jim Gamble’s Puppet Show, Children’s Songs with Dan Crow and a visit with the Spring Fairies. Bunny related crafts include a special education Bunny Discovery Zone, and bunny ear making crafts.
Admission to Big Bunny is free with paid admission to the Zoo. Face painting and Big Bunny photos are available for a nominal fee.
Sesame Street Live Weekend

The Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens is located in Griffith Park at the junction of the Ventura (134) and Golden State (5) freeways. General admission is $16 for adults and $11 for children ages 2 to 12. Big Bunny’s Spring Fling is free with admission to the L.A. Zoo. The Zoo is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
