Sylvester Stallone​ Won't Face Charges In Alleged Sexual Assault

LA prosecutors found insufficient evidence to charge "Rocky" star Sylvester Stallone for sexual assaults that allegedly happened decades ago

LOS ANGELES, CA — Sylvester Stallone will not face charges stemming from a decades-old rape allegation, Los Angeles County prosecutors announced Tuesday.

The District Attorney's Office found there was "insufficient evidence to support a filing in addition to the allegations being outside the statute of limitations, according to a document released Tuesday. Details of the case remain murky.The woman -- with whom Stallone had a consensual relationship in 1987 - - "alleged sexual assaults in 1987 and 1990," according to the District Attorney's Office.

The woman filed a report with Santa Monica police last year, but the actor's attorney vehemently denied the allegation.

Stallone's lawyer, Martin Singer, said the actor had been notified about the allegation and categorically disputed the claim.

"It is a false claim. It is a complete fabrication," Singer told the Los Angeles Times.

Stallone's attorney alleged that "the woman here filed a police report to get a story published."

Last year, a woman accused the "Rocky" and "Rambo" actor of sexually assaulting her at a Las Vegas hotel in in the 1980s. The woman claimed she was a minor when the actor forced her into sexually acts with him and his bodyguard, threatening to hurt her if she ever told anyone, according to an account she gave to the Daily Guardian.
