Madame Tussauds' new marketing campaign to increase visitors targets the Hollywood Wax Museum, reports the L.A. Times.

The competition between rivaling wax museums in Hollywood is ratcheting up a level this week.
is launching a hard-hitting campaign that will compare figures from its collection with figures from the , according to a report in the L.A. Times.
Madame Tussauds will have a celebrity replica in its lobby placed next to a life-size photo of the same figure displayed at the Hollywood Wax Museum.

It's a "current-day David and Goliath story," Tej Sundher, who operates the Hollywood Wax Museum with his uncles, told the Times. Sundher was referring to the international recognition of Madame Tussauds wax museums.
"We are more kitschy but we embrace that," he said.

The manager of Madame Tussauds says the campaign is all about branding and distinguishing itself from the competition. "We don't want people being confused," Colin Thomas, general manager of Madame Tussauds, told the Times.
