What You Need To Know About L.A.'s Weekend Freeway, Ramp Closures - Particularly If Heading To LAX
Closures are set near the I-405, the I-10 at PCH interchange in Santa Monica and the I-210 in Pasadena.

LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CA -- Several road and ramp closures planned for this weekend may affect motorists -- particularly those heading to the Los Angeles International Airport, the San Gabriel Valley or the beaches in the Santa Monica area. Here's what's in store:
IN SANTA MONICA:
The Santa Monica (10) Freeway-Pacific Coast Highway interchange will be closed overnight Sunday and Monday so that maintenance work can be done on the McClure Tunnel.

Crews will be washing the tunnel, sealing cracks, removing brush, trimming trees, sweeping and removing graffiti.
IN INGLEWOOD NEAR LAX:
Some motorists heading to or from Los Angeles International Airport may have to adjust their route this weekend, thanks to a planned 55-hour closure of southbound San Diego (405) Freeway ramps in the area.
According to Caltrans, the southbound 405 Freeway Century Boulevard on-and off-ramps will be closed beginning at 10 p.m., and continuing until 5 a.m.Monday.
The La Cienega Boulevard on- and off-ramps will remain open, but Caltrans officials said motorists should expect delays in the area.
The Century Boulevard ramps are being repaved as part of a $12.2 million project that will re-surface the 405 Freeway between El Segundo and Venice boulevards. The project is expected to be completed by the end of next year.
IN PASADENA:
A stretch of the westbound Foothill (210) Freeway in Pasadena will again be closed for 55 hours this weekend, beginning tonight, meaning motorists will want to look for alternate routes. The westbound freeway will be closed at 10 p.m. between Lake Avenue and Mountain Street to accommodate pavement repairs. The eastbound ramp from the Ventura (134) Freeway to the westbound Foothill Freeway also will be closed, along with the westbound Foothill Freeway off-ramps at Marengo Avenue and Mountain Street, and the Walnut Street on-ramp.
The closures are expected to last until 5 a.m. Monday. The same stretch of freeway was closed for the weekend of July 15-17, with the freeway actually reopening about an hour ahead of schedule.
According to Caltrans, the freeway's use as a major connector between Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties means the "road has experienced extensive wear.''
"The closures are part of a $148.5 million pavement rehabilitation project in both directions of I-210 in the cities of Glendale, La Canada Flintridge and Pasadena,'' according to Caltrans. "Once the project is completed in 2018 the new surface will provide a smoother, safer drive for motorists, reduce time required for maintenance and minimize the need for further lane closures.''
