  1. When you drive past the former Don Ramon's building at 16961 Goldenwest Street, you will notice that the property sits vacant. While the business is moving to 7148 Edinger Avenue and plans to reopen in June, the empty building is not guarded. “The City's Homeless Task Force has been alerted.” (HB News)
  2. There will be a Landlord/Tenant Walk-In Clinic on April 21 and April 28. Taking place at HB City Hall, attendees have an opportunity to meet with a housing counselor to “discuss any rental housing issues, tenant/landlord disputes, or to ask questions about Fair Housing Laws.” (Fair Housing Found.)
  3. Before heading to the beach this weekend, check out the real-time data about hazards and water conditions. “Safe Beach Day is a website with real-time data, including what’s called aquatic risk. The lifeguard towers on the map will show up green for moderate risk areas, yellow for medium risk, and red for hazardous.” “Our goal is for everyone to have a safe day, a great day,” said the Marine Safety Division Battalion Chief.   4. Liberty Military Housing is getting serious about battling digital media consumption. It announced Thursday that it partnered “with Take the Challenge Now Foundation to provide military families with access to a ten-day activity-based challenge.” “Take the Challenge teaches constructive ways to incorporate more screen-free activities into your life while decreasing screen use. The challenge begins on April 25 and concludes on May 2.” (Bakersfield)
  5. On May 26, Lauds & Laurels is coming to the Pasea Hotel. “The University of California, Irvine Alumni Association will honor 23 accomplished individuals . . . bestowing its highest honor, the Extraordinarius award, on Thomas Parham ’77, Ph.D., for his exemplary service, leadership, and professional excellence.” (News Wise)
