  1. Creative Visions, “an art exhibition showcasing students from the Ocean View School District and the Huntington Beach Union High School District,” started Friday and will run until April 7. You can see it in person at the HB Art Center. In the alternative, there is a virtual tour. (HBAC)
  2. Senator Dave Min spent his Saturday morning installing free smoke alarms in HB. The Sound The Alarm Initiative enlisted the help of the HBFD and Red Cross volunteers. Nationwide, the Initiative will install 50,000 free smoke alarms on this day. (@SenDaveMin)
  3. Congresswoman Michelle Steel took some time on Wednesday to recognize her “dedicated and exceptional interns serving the people of Orange County in my Huntington Beach Office!” At that time, she also announced the availability of summer internships. “The Huntington Beach office is open to recently-graduated high school students, college, and grad students.” Apply by April 15 for a May to August internship. 4. If you’re driving around with a modified exhaust, remember that the magic number is 95 decibels. The Newport PD explained on Wednesday that they stopped a Porsche that was too loud. They impounded the vehicle after finding a fake 2022 registration tab and illegal engine headers. (Newport Beach PD)
  5. The resource fair for seniors and mobile home park residents is on April 2 at the Senior Center in Central Park. There will be elected representatives, non-profit groups, housing and community resources, health screenings, city services, and free refreshments. “This Fair is hosted in partnership with the Huntington Beach Council on Aging, utility companies, state legislators and service providers who will connect seniors with resources and provide assistance in signing up for programs they are eligible for.” (Surf City Break)
