Representing Imperial, Holtville, parts of Calexico, and eastern Imperial County, she’ll guide grid planning and regional energy decisions starting with the January 6 board meeting.
   

• Office of Traffic Safety awards $20,500 grant to the Imperial County Fire Department for new emergency response equipment (ivpressonline.com) — Imperial County Fire Department has secured a $20,500 state traffic safety grant to buy advanced rescue struts that stabilize crashed vehicles and hazardous loads. Local first responders say the new tools and training will speed access to crash victims and make scenes safer, potentially improving survival chances for Imperial-area residents after serious collisions.
