• City of Imperial files lawsuit against the county (kyma.com) — Imperial city officials have filed a lawsuit against Imperial County to pause a proposed data center until they get more transparency and public input, especially on environmental impacts. City leaders say they support potential economic benefits but want proper oversight, notification for residents, and clarity on wastewater use, while El Centro reports it has not approved any wastewater commitment.
   

• Local Government Waste Tire Amnesty Grant Program (TA8) (ca.gov) — Imperial County agencies have a new chance to secure state funding for free waste tire amnesty events, with projects in San Diego and Imperial counties getting top priority. Local governments, tribes, and special districts can apply for up to $40,000 individually or $90,000 regionally to host convenient tire drop‑offs that curb illegal dumping and keep tires out of landfills.
