Do You Have an ID Card for Your Child?

La Cañada Presbyterian is hosting a free child ID program. The cards contain a current photo, fingerprints, contact information, and other pertinent information needed by police in an emergency.

La Cañada Presbyterian Church's Parent Education Program is partnering with New York Life to keep children safe through a free Child ID Program open to the entire community, according to a church press release.

Parents are invited to bring their children Wednesday, May 1 (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) and on Thursday, May 2 (noon through 4 p.m.) to La Canada Presbyterian Church’s Fellowship Hall located at 626 Foothill Blvd in La Canada.

Parents will receive an actual I.D. card for their children containing a current photo, fingerprints, contact information, and other pertinent information needed by police in an emergency. Child I.D.s feature the EZ Child I.D. System, the nation’s most comprehensive digital fingerprinting child identification system, which takes only three to five minutes to issue.

Created with help from the National CHIP foundation and law enforcement officials, this system ensures that the digital fingerprints meet industry standards by capturing all the vital information required by the Amber Alert system.

New York Life will also offer information designed to help children learn how to stay safe in home, at play, or wherever they happen to be. "Parent Ed is all about inspiring parents and nurturing families. Having a Child I.D. will give parents the peace of mind knowing that should anything ever happen to their child, they will have an I.D. with vital information to distribute to the local authorities.

On site, will also be information on LCPC's Registration for Fall Classes, which opens May 15th to the general public. The fall semester begins the week of September 9th & offers 14 classes for parents of children ages 0-18!

About LCPC Parent Education

For 33 years, LCPC’s Parent Education Program has maintained its legacy of quality education and reputable staff. Currently, the program offers 13 parent education classes per week for parents of children who are newborns through age 18. Parents of children zero through five attend Parent & Child Classes, while parents of elementary, tween and teen children attend Parent Only Classes. Approximately 400 parents and children from 22 cities come on campus every week for parent education—driving from a 30-mile radius of La Cañada.
