Police said they are investigating this as a possible suicide.

Amtrak spokeswoman Vernae Graham said the train was Surfliner line 774 train from San Luis Obispo heading to San Diego. There were no injuries to the 224 passengers and crew on board.
As of 5 p.m., those passengers were still waiting for buses to take them to the Burbank Downtown Station and then on to their final destination. The reason it took a while to get the passengers to their final destination was because Amtrak had to get a new crew to swap out the current crew, Graham said.

The accident caused the cancellation of the 769 San Diego-Santa Barbara train and the 796 Santa Barbara-San Diego train. Those passengers were place on the Coast Starlight 77 and 11 trains.
Because of the investigation, Metrolink's Los Angeles-bound Antelope Valley line 214 train will terminate at the Burbank Downtown Station, and buses will be brought into shuttle passengers to Los Angeles.
Also, Metrolink's AV Line 218 train to Los Angeles was canceled, as was Metrolink's Ventura County Line 109 train to Moorpark.
