1 Injured, Traffic Delayed Near Laguna Canyon Road After Crash

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — A car crash on the California State route 73 freeway near Laguna Canyon Road slowed traffic considerably and sent at least one person to the hospital Monday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The incident was called in at 4:11 p.m., after a gray Ford and a silver Nissan crashed on the on-ramp leading to the freeway, authorities said. The state of the injured person is not currently known.

California Highway Patrol authorities called Laguna Beach Police deputies to the scene, the CHP reported. Commuters were urged to steer clear of the area while the scene was assessed.
