The Royal Hawaiian, one of the Golden State's oldest Tiki-themed bars, is set to reopen in Laguna Beach on Saturday, June 10.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — One of California's oldest Tiki-themed bars will reopen in Laguna Beach on Saturday, June 10, the Orange County Register reported.
Ownership and décor for the Royal Hawaiian may have changed over the decades, but the eatery's Lapu Lapus and Mais Tais remain menu heavyweights.
The Royal Hawaiian originally opened at 331 N. Pacific Coast Highway in Laguna Beach in 1947. It was originally opened by Philippines-born Francis Cabang and Harold "Hal" Hanna, two World War II veterans. Back then, the Royal Hawaiian served as a hangout for tiki fanatics and families, according to a previous Patch report.
