Laguna Beach Police Department Joins Instagram

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — The Laguna Beach Police Department has added to their ranks with two new Laguna Beach Police recruits.

Officer Roberts and Officer Diaz, recently graduated the Orange County Sheriffs Academy and now are in field training. They also have added themselves to the ranks of city police and public service departments who are showcasing what they are all about on social media via Instagram.

Life is different in Laguna Beach when the summer people go on their way, and the police are involved not just in keeping the peace, but in bettering the community.

Instagram, with its ability to show through images and miniature movies, what it is like to be on the other side of the law. A picture snapped during the Labor Day Weekend DUI checkpoint shows an individual answering questions after having been temporarily halted. Visitors and fans are able to have that "gut check" moment, and one reader even mentioned that it is much cheaper to hire Uber or Lyft for a ride than to have to pay the consequences of a DUI.

Coming out with their Instagram message in force on Labor Day Weekend, the Laguna Beach Police Officers mugged for the camera with a portable frame advertising how to find them online.

On National Dog Day, the Laguna Beach Police Department showcased one of their K-9 officers, out and about on patrol with his officer, and even a call to join the team.
