LAGUNA BEACH, CA — A Laguna Beach restaurant is closed down permanently this week, after the owners behind Rum Social Kitchen & Cocktails announced that the business would be closing for good on Wednesday, Oct. 11.

"It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Rum Social Kitchen & Cocktails effective Wednesday, Oct. 11. We have cherished the moments of joy, togetherness and celebration within these walls," read an email sent by the restaurant. "The decision to close has been incredibly difficult and comes after thoughtful consideration."

The restaurant originally opened last March in Peppertree Lane and was described as a "Tropical Hemingway-esque hideaway."

"Your loyalty and support have been the cornerstone of our business. We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to each one of you for allowing us to be a part of your memories in this very special community," the statement read.
