Laguna Beach Taco Shop Set To Close After 36 Years
The popular taco mainstay Taco Loco announced that it would close at the end of the month.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — A longstanding Mexican eatery in Laguna Beach is set to close its doors, after the owner of Taco Loco announced that the popular mainstay would close at the end of September.
"After 36 years of feeding the locals and visitors of Laguna Beach, it's time for the next chapter of my journey here on earth, my next adventure," Taco Loco owner Gonzalo Rebollar wrote on his restaurant's website.
The taco stand, which opened in 1987, quickly became a Laguna Beach mainstay for its expansive menu and location near the beach. With only a handful of seats and a taco menu posted outside of the door, the location was well-loved by residents and visitors alike.

While the location is set to close this September, Rebollar wrote that the closure will not be the end of Taco Loco entirely.
“Once I’ve taken some time off to relax, I will be starting a food blog, along with a YouTube channel, and many of the recipes from the Taco Loco menu will be put into a digital cookbook that you will be able to download from our website,” Rebollar wrote.

This is the second Laguna Beach eatery to close this month. On Sept. 5, the Stand Natural Foods, a walk-up vegan eatery, shuttered after 48 years, The Orange County Register reported.
