Montage Laguna Beach Appoints New Hotel Manager, Christian Maeder
Maeder joins the Montage Laguna Beach team with over two decades of experience in the luxury hospitality sector.
LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Montage Laguna Beach has a new hotel manager on board. The hotel introduced the appointment of Christian Maeder as hotel manager this week. With 20 years of experience in luxury hospitality and an impressive track record throughout, Maeder oversees all operations departments at the resort, including Food and Beverage, while providing day-to-day support of all operations leaders.
He is also tasked with the responsibility of upholding the resort’s guest satisfaction standards, including updating operational procedures, launching new food and beverage concepts, and maintaining high financial performance.
“We’ve been anticipating to Christian’s arrival and are excited for him to be leading operations at Montage Laguna Beach,” said Mary Rogers, General Manager Montage Laguna Beach. “Christian has had the opportunity to polish his management skills at some of the finest luxury addresses in the U.S. and Europe, and his knowledge of food and beverage is truly enviable. I am really looking forward to his contributions.”
Maeder joins Montage Laguna Beach from The Maybourne Beverly Hills, where he served as director of food and beverage. Previously, he held the same role at Four Seasons Resort, The Biltmore Santa Barbara, and before that at The Setai Miami Beach. His first turn as an operations leader was at Four Seasons Hotel New York, which he joined as assistant food and beverage manager in 2012 and departed as food and beverage manager in 2015. Earlier in his career, Maeder worked with the Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas, and Claridge’s in London, further expanding his luxury hospitality experience.
Born in Switzerland and well-traveled since, Maeder is fluent in English, German, French and Spanish and has basic proficiency in Italian. He received his bachelor’s degree in hospitality management from the coveted Swiss Hotel Management School Luzern and studied financial management at Cornell University. During his downtime, Maeder enjoys traveling the world, exploring wine regions, restaurants, and all things sports.
