See Laguna Beach's 2021 Juried Fine Arts Winners
The city's annual exhibition of winning artworks is on display in City Hall's first floor corridors through November 17.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA—The 15th annual City of Laguna Beach Juried Fine Art Exhibition is currently on display in the first-floor hallways of City Hall, 505 Forest Avenue. The exhibition is open to the public during regular city business hours through November 17, 2021.
The 33 original works were all realized by artists from all over Orange County.
This year's exhibition was curated and juried by Paul Baker Prindle, director of the Carolyn Campagna Kleefeld Contemporary Art Museum at Cal State Long Beach.

“I was so impressed by the quality and breadth of talent evident in the submissions," said Mr. Prindle. "Jurying this exhibition was an opportunity to learn more about the exceptional arts community in Laguna Beach, and I’m grateful to all the artists for sharing the work not only with me, but with their neighbors and visitors to the city. I encourage everyone to visit the exhibition and support local arts.”

First Place: "Circle of Solitude—Wave," by Noriho Uriu, mixed media.
Urlu has exhibited her prints at the Laguna Beach Festival of Arts since 2005. Her 2016 piece, "From Line to Color,” was acquired for the Festival's permanent collection.
Second Place: "Swift as the Wind," by Judith Haron, egg tempera and gold leaf.
Haron is a Laguna Beach-based artist whose work focuses on endangered flora and fauna. Her wildlife illuminations are exhibited at the Sawdust in the summer and the Winter Fantasy.
Third Place: "The Magician," by Ellen Rittenhouse, oil on canvas.
Rittenhouse is a recent graduate of the Laguna College of Art + Design, who embraces the storytelling power of painting in oil.
Honorable Mentions include "Morning Walk," a stitch artwork by Mariana Ivanova; "My Life," a watercolor by Mi Kim; and "Veiled Compliment," by Pegah Samaie in oil on aluminum.
