Big Box Office Numbers for Movies Over Holiday

Thanksgiving weekend was busy for ticket sales, experts say "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2: was a top draw. See it in Laguna Niguel at Cinepolis.

Hollywood basked in a twilight glow of success over the Thanksgiving weekend, as theaters sold admission tickets at a record-setting pace, an analyst said. 

"This year, the five-day break exceeded the already-high expectations
with a whopping $290 million in sales," movie industry analyst Paul
Dergarabedian said.

"What do you get when you mix a the finale of a supernatural saga, the
world's most-deadly assassin, a dash of American history and an unlikely
friendship?'' Dergarabedian enthused. "The lineup for a record-breaking
holiday weekend!'"

 was the top draw, with an
estimated $64 million in ticket sales in the U.S. and Canada during the four-
day weekend. That film has a domestic gross of $227 million over its two-week
reign at the top of the industry's list.

Skyfall, the latest James Bond thriller, was in second place, with a
$51 million weekend and a $221.7 million total over three weeks.

In third place was Steven Spielberg's Lincoln, with a $34 million
weekend and $62.1 million running total over three weeks.

A pair of premieres finished in fourth and fifth place. The Rise Of The Guardians with $32.6 million and Life Of Pi with $30.2 million.

Rounding out the 10 most-popular movies in the U.S. and Canada, as
estimated by the studios and reported by Hollywood.com Box Office, were

Wreck-It Ralph ($16.8 million), Red Dawn (premiering with $22 million),
Flight ($8.6 million), Silver Linings Playbook ($6.5 million) and
Argo ($5.1 million).
