Fiery Crash Snarls Ortega Highway Traffic, Injures 1 Amid Rain

RANCHO MISSION VIEJO, CA — At least one person was injured in a solo crash on Ortega Highway in Rancho Mission Viejo on Friday, Nov. 14, authorities said.
The crash was reported at 10:56 a.m. amid rainy conditions on the westbound side of the highway near Ranch Carrillo Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The solo crash appeared to have caused a brush fire on Ortega near Caspers Park, according to the preliminary investigation found on the CHP log. At least one person was injured in the crash, and their current status was not known.
