Hit-And-Run Driver Charged With Murder After 13-Year-Old Killed In OC Crash
The driver has two prior arrests on suspicion of driving under the influence and was on probation, according to police.

DANA POINT, CA — A San Juan Capistrano man is charged with murder in connection with a hit-and-run crash that killed a 13-year-old boy Tuesday in Dana Point, according to police.
Bradley Gene Funk, 59, was driving a white GMC pick-up truck that struck Luis Adrian Morales-Pacheco of San Juan Capistrano around 8:15 a.m. near Park Lantern and Dana Point Harbor Drive, police said, adding that Funk then fled the scene. The boy was taken to a local hospital, where he later died, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Witnesses helped deputies find Funk a few miles away and he was arrested and booked into the Orange County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence and murder, as well as charges related to the hit-and-run, police said. Funk has had two prior arrests on suspicion of driving under the influence and was on probation for driving while intoxicated, according to police.
