DANA POINT, CA — An Orange County man is grateful to be alive after a couple of good samaritans and a lifeguard helped to save his life when he went into cardiac arrest at a Dana Point beach on Sept. 6, Fox 11 reported.

Doctors told Fox 11 that Bryan Parkinson's chances of survival were less than 1 percent — but with the help of the surrounding community, he made it through the crisis and is now able to walk.
