Police Standoff Ends Peacefully In Laguna Hills After 4 Hours
The Orange County Sheriff's Department said a man in his mid-50s was wanted in connection with a possible arson.
LAGUNA HILLS, CA — A standoff between Orange County Sheriff's Department deputies and a man wanted in connection with a possible arson ended peacefully in Laguna Hills after four hours late Friday morning.
The man, described by authorities as being in his mid-50s, surrendered to deputies after being barricaded inside an apartment in the 24000 block of Paseo Valencia, the sheriff's department said.
A department spokesperson said the man was wanted in connection with a fire that may have been deliberately set at a residential facility for older people in the area around 7 a.m. The fire triggered the facility's sprinkler system and damaged several units with water.

The sheriff's department said the man refused to leave an apartment he was in after being confronted about the fire.
