Saddleback Medical Center Appoints Medical Director of Women's Health

LAGUNA HILLS, CA – MemorialCare Saddleback Medical Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael L. Krychman, MDCM, as the new Medical Director of Women's Health Services.

In his new role, Dr. Krychman will spearhead initiatives to enhance the quality of women's health services, ensuring a patient-centric approach that prioritizes the unique needs of women across all stages of life. His leadership is set to drive innovation and excellence in the delivery of care, with a particular focus on sexual health, menopause, and wellness. Dr. Krychman is joining the team at the Women’s Health Pavilion as it nears completion – where a focus of dedicated care for women fills the gap in South Orange County.

Dr. Krychman is a highly specialized OB/GYN with a focus on pelvic health, survivorship, sexual health and wellness, and menopause management. He focuses on precision medicine and developing care plans that are tailored to the individual woman to best address her specialized needs and concerns. Some treatments may include behavioral modification, complementary and alternative medicine techniques, hormonal treatments (estrogen, progesterone, testosterone), advanced medications, as well as new and emerging pharmacological interventions.

Dr. Krychman’s team will include a dedicated nurse navigator, who will play a vital role in supporting women seeking cutting-edge care at Saddleback Medical Center. Dr. Krychman is an author, key opinion leader, Femtech expert, and medical advisor in the women’s and men’s health device, pharmaceutical, and product areas. He is an active member with North American Menopause Society (NAMS), International Society for Sexual Medicine (ISSM), and the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT). In 2023, he won the International Society for Sexual Medicine (ISSM) award for best research paper in Female Sexual Medicine. He is an invited guest for the 2024 International Consultation on Sexual Medicine hosted by the International Society for Sexual Medicine. Dr. Krychman has published eight books including his most recent one: “The Menopause Sparkle.” He was named a Physician of Excellence by Orange Coast Magazine as one of Orange County Top Doctors for Menopause, Sexual Dysfunction and Vulvar Pain for the last 8 years.
