SUV Flips On 5 Freeway; Injuring 1, Stalling Morning Traffic: CHP

SAN CLEMENTE, CA — At least one person was injured when a dump truck and SUV crashed on the Interstate 5 Freeway traveling through San Clemente on Tuesday, authorities said.

The crash was reported at 9:08 a.m. on the northbound side of the freeway, near Camino De Estrella, the California Highway Patrol said.

According to the preliminary investigation, the dump truck was driving northbound when it hit the SUV, prompting the SUV to roll several times.

At least one person was injured in the crash. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.

The crash slowed traffic on the northbound side of the freeway amid busy morning traffic.
