2 Arrested In RivCo For Alleged Home Invasion

LAKE MATTHEWS, CA — Two people were arrested Saturday on suspicion of home invasion robbery and assault with a deadly weapon among other offenses in Lake Matthews.

Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department Lake Matthews station responded to a residence in the 19000 block of Consul Avenue on Jan. 3 shortly after 6 a.m. regarding an armed home invasion. The call referenced two suspects who demanded the victims' property using a firearm after breaking into the residence, according to the sheriff's department.

Officials said one suspect "pistol-whipped" two victims, who were later medically treated for minor injuries, officials said. The suspects fled the scene before deputies arrived.

Lake Matthews Special Enforcement Team investigators revealed they located the suspects in Perris on Friday and identified them as 41-year-old Corona resident Megan Alice Schuchman and 40-year-old Riverside resident Ricardo Gonzalez.

The suspects were arrested and booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside, the sheriff's department stated.

Gonzalez has no set bail amount due to an out-of-county warrant on him. Schuchman's bail was set at $35,000.
