Autopsy Pending After Woman Killed In Perris Crash

Circumstances behind the wreck remain unclear.

PERRIS, CA — An autopsy was pending Friday on a 29-year-old motorist killed in a collision between two Kia sedans at a Perris intersection, as investigators continue to attempt to sort out what caused the deadly wreck.

Samantha Muro of Riverside was fatally injured about 4 p.m. Wednesday in the 4100 block of North Perris Boulevard, near Perry Street, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Sgt. Jeremy Bracey said Muro was at the wheel of a Kia Optima that collided with a Kia Soul, though the circumstances behind the wreck were unclear.

Paramedics reached the location within minutes and pronounced Muro dead at the scene. The other motorist was taken to nearby Riverside University Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The victim is expected to recover.

There were no other occupants of either vehicle.

Bracey said it remains unknown whether alcohol or drugs may have been factors in the crash.
