Bicyclist Killed In Perris Hit-And-Run; Driver Sought
Authorities Saturday were looking for a hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a 64-year-old bicyclist in Perris.
PERRIS, CA — Authorities Saturday were looking for a hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a 64-year-old bicyclist in Perris.
The crash occurred at 11:16 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Goetz Road and Ellis Avenue, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
Deputies arrived at the scene minutes later and determined that the bicyclist was hit by an older, unknown-model sedan that was either white or light-colored, sheriff's officials said.

Investigators also said the sedan has major front-end damage and a shattered front windshield.
The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene and later identified as Steve Baxter of Perris, according to the Riverside County coroner's office.

Authorities urged anyone who witnessed the crash and has not yet been interviewed by investigators to call the sheriff's Perris station at 951-210- 1068.
