Blaze Sparks Along Santa Ana River Bottom In Jurupa Valley

JURUPA VALLEY, CA — Firefighters Sunday continued investigating the cause of an 18-acre brush fire along the Santa Ana River bottom in Jurupa Valley.

The blaze was reported at 1:40 p.m. Friday in the area of Limonite Avenue and Bain Street, on the north side of the river bottom, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire by 6:15 p.m. Saturday, with multiple engine crews from the county and city of Riverside and Cal Fire water-dropping helicopters summoned to assist ground personnel.
