Coroner IDs Hemet Man Killed In Monday Crash

The Riverside County Sheriff's Department Coroner's Bureau released the identity of the 48-year-old man killed in a San Jacinto crash.

SAN JACINTO, CA — A Hemet man was identified as the victim of a two-car San Jacinto collision Monday, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department Coroner's Bureau shared.

Javier Lopez Montes, 48, of Hemet, died as a result of the crash, the coroner shared after notification of next of kin.

Montes was fatally injured just before 4:30 p.m. at Quandt Ranch Road and State Street, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Montes' sedan collided with another vehicle at the intersection, but it was unclear which driver may have failed to yield in the crash, which remains under investigation. He was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other driver, whose identity was not disclosed, suffered unspecified non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a regional trauma center for treatment.
