Driver Sought In Lake Elsinore Hit-And-Run Fatal Crash

A pedestrian was struck and killed on a Lake Elsinore roadway early Tuesday, the motorist fled from the scene.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A pedestrian was struck and killed in Lake Elsinore Tuesday, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department Lake Elsinore station. Authorities say that the driver of a dark-colored vehicle is still being sought.

Shortly before 1 a.m., deputies assigned to the Riverside Sheriff's Lake Elsinore Station responded to a major injury traffic collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian at Riverside Drive, west of Baker Street, Lake Elsinore.

The pedestrian was found in the roadway and pronounced deceased at the scene.

"The driver that struck the pedestrian fled the location and is still being sought," they said.

The vehicle involved, believed to be dark-colored, is still being sought. There was no information on the make or model type of the vehicle.

The pedestrian's name is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
