RIVERSIDE, CA — Motorists who use state Route 91 were advised that a fatal crash Monday afternoon had closed some traffic lanes on the eastbound side of the freeway in Riverside.
The fatality was reported shortly before 12:30 p.m., just west of Tyler Street.
According to preliminary information, a pedestrian who ran across the freeway was hit by a semi-truck in the #3 lane.

A SigAlert was issued at 12:39 p.m. and at least two traffic lanes were closed, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Traffic was expected to be very slow for several hours as the CHP investigates the crash.
