Felon Arrested For Allegedly Possessing Gun, Meth

Sheriff's officials say they found the gun and meth during a traffic stop.

PERRIS, CA — A 31-year-old felon accused of possessing a loaded handgun and two ounces of methamphetamine was arrested in Perris, sheriff's officials said Sunday.

Antonio Hinojosa Jr. of Perris was pulled over by deputies at 3:15 p.m. Friday near Eighth and D streets, said Riverside County Sheriff's Sgt. Sam Morovich.

During the traffic stop, deputies discovered the firearm and drugs that led to Hinojosa's arrest, he said.

Hinojosa was booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center on suspicion of multiple gun- and drug-related felonies.

He remained jailed without bail.
