Felon Turns Himself In Following Lake Mathews Shooting
One person was wounded. A possible motive for the shooting was not provided.

LAKE MATHEWS, CA — A convicted felon who was sought in connection with a weekend shooting near Lake Mathews has turned himself in, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department announced Tuesday.
Ric Paul Huffman, 53, was booked Sunday evening into Riverside's Robert Presley Detention Center on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, and making criminal threats, jail records show.
According to the sheriff's department, deputies were called at 11:20 p.m. Saturday to the 17000 block of Alameda Drive in Lake Mathews regarding a shooting.

Once on the scene, deputies found a victim with a gunshot wound. The person was sent to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the sheriff's department reported.
A search of the area was conducted, but no suspect was found.

The next day, Huffman turned himself in. A search warrant was served at his home and "the firearm that was used in the assault was located," according to the sheriff's department.
A possible motive for the shooting was not provided.
Riverside County court records show Huffman has a felony robbery conviction and two separate felony convictions of being a felon and narcotic addict in possession of a firearm.
