Horsethief Canyon House Fire Kills Pet Dog

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — A house fire over the weekend in Horsethief Canyon killed a pet dog, but no human injuries were reported.

The blaze was reported at 6:57 p.m. Sunday in the 27000 block of Pacos Ridge.

When Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department crews arrived at the scene, they found a single-story, single-family residence "with a well-established attic fire," according to the agency.

Firefighters contained the blaze to the one home.
